Privacy Policy
Data that is never collected cannot be compromised, sold, or disclosed.
Data Collection
Hoppr does not collect personal data. The application operates without user accounts, email addresses, telephone numbers, device identifiers, IP addresses, analytics payloads, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or contact book access.
Data Retained on the User Device
- Identity key pair (Ed25519), generated on first launch.
- User-selected display name.
- Message history, if retention is enabled by the user.
- List of trusted peers, if marked by the user.
All local data is encrypted at rest using platform-provided secure storage (iOS Keychain, macOS Keychain) and may be deleted by uninstalling the application or by triggering the in-app panic wipe.
Data Transmitted
- End-to-end encrypted message payloads over the Bluetooth Low Energy mesh transport.
- When mesh connectivity is unavailable, the same encrypted payloads are relayed through public Nostr infrastructure via the Tor network. Relay operators observe only ciphertext and routing envelopes.
Third-Party Services
Hoppr integrates no third-party analytics, advertising networks, attribution services, push notification gateways, or software development kits that transmit user data.
User Rights
Users may delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the application. No server-side record exists; no deletion request mechanism is required or available.
Jurisdiction
The operator of Hoppr is a company incorporated in the United Arab Emirates. This policy is governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates.
